Original publisher's black-and-white paper wrappers with staple binding. Red and white illustration of an English and United States Penny Post souvenir envelope and "The Philatelic West and The Collector's World" printed on front cover. 6" x 9." Unpaginated, c. 100 pages, complete. Black-and-white illustrations, complete. Many advertisements interspersed throughout. Pages are clean and intact overall but have a closed tear measuring 2" from bottom edge on one of back pages of ads, occasional marks or stains, rusting to the staples, light age toning, and slight wear to extremities. Covers are clean and intact overall but have moderate age toning, darkening, chipping and closed tears on edges and corners, and a few marks or stains. Covers are coming loose but are included. A Very Good copy. The November 1908 (Volume 42, Number 2) issue of the Philatelic West, a monthly magazine established in 1895 that combined the New York and Omaha Philatelist Photo Bulletin, Post Card World, Metropolis, Juvenile Philatelist, Collectors World and Curio Monthly. The magazine focuses on stamp-collecting but includes other hobbies such as photography, coin-collecting, and the collecting of natural specimens, artifacts, and antiques. This issue includes many ads relating to philately and other hobbies and news about different philatelic and hobby organizations, clubs, and societies.
