Paperback. "The Personal Relation in Industry" is a seminal work by John D. Rockefeller Jr. that explores the evolving landscape of labor relations and corporate governance during the early 20th century. Writing from a position of significant industrial influence, Rockefeller advocates for a cooperative spirit between employees and employers, suggesting that the success of any enterprise depends on mutual understanding and shared responsibility. The book outlines his philosophy of industrial representation, emphasizing that labor and capital are partners rather than antagonists.Rockefeller addresses the complex social and economic challenges of his time, proposing a model of "Industrial Creed" designed to foster harmony and social justice within the corporate structure. He discusses the importance of the human element in large-scale industry, arguing that personal contact and democratic participation are essential for preventing industrial unrest. This collection of essays and addresses serves as an important historical document, reflecting the early development of corporate social responsibility and modern human resource management. "The Personal Relation in Industry" remains a compelling study for those interested in the history of business ethics, labor rights, and the philosophical foundations of industrial society. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
