THE PERFECT WOMAN BLUEPRINT
12 Rules Your Mother Forgot To Teach You
Rule 1: Be Early.
Rule 2: Be Small.
Rule 3: Be Useful.
You know all twelve. You could recite them right now. Nobody ever wrote them down, nobody ever handed them to you, and yet by the time you were eleven you had them memorized — and you have been quietly, expensively obeying them ever since.
This book writes them down.
Twelve women. Twelve rules. One of them is you.
A CEO who sits down on the floor of an airport and whose first thought is not something in me has broken, but if I’m late, they’ll know.
A fourteen-year-old girl in a gym where nobody ever said the word — and a scale in the hallway that nobody had to mention.
An ER nurse whose jaw structurally failed from a smile.
A woman who signed the settlement, took the money, and did not understand what she had actually sold until a dinner party eight months later, over the bread.
And Rule 3, which is about your mother, and which you should probably not read at work.
A warning, in fairness.
This is not a self-help book.
There is no program in here. No morning routine. No five-step framework, no worksheet, no thirty-day challenge — and Rule 12 explains, at some length, exactly why any book that offered you one would be handing you the same document with a nicer cover.
If you came for instructions, you have been misled, and the publisher says so on page eight.
What you get instead is twelve stories that will make you put the book down and stare at a wall, a one-hundred-page diary with no page numbers, and a quiz at the back where every single result is kind — for a reason that is not revealed until after you’ve taken it.
Perfect for readers who:
• Arrive fifteen minutes early to things that do not require it
• Have said “sorry, I’m a mess” about a house that was clean
• Cannot answer the question what do you want for dinner
• Have a mother who has never sat down first at a meal, not once, not in your entire life
