Paperback. The Pattern of Almost starts with the devastating fact that her joints won't stay together. This poetry collection is about life with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's joints that slip, skin that remembers too much, and days that feel exhausting. It's also about the sharp, necessary humor and stubborn tenderness that Kelly keeps through it all. These poems move through the vulnerable instability of a life lived in looseness: physical, emotional, and otherwise. It dives into what it means to live in a body that's forever slipping past its own limits. This isn't a lesson. It's a record. If you've ever rehearsed your symptoms like it's testimony, argued with insurance like it's a second job, or mourned the life your body keeps on editing, read this. This poetry collection won't ask you to be inspiring. It will be honest with you, and it won't leave you behind. It is about the fragile engineering of a hypermobile body and the fierce, determined will it takes to live with it. This is a fierce, soft-goth poetry collection about living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's brutally tender and built from the kind of truth you don't have to translate.
