Addiction can destroy lives, tear apart families, and hinder personal growth. The story within offers hope both to addicts and to anyone who loves them. This gripping memoir portrays a dual and sometimes haunting perspective of addiction, love, the Atonement, and above all, hope. Lenaya recounts her struggle with more than a decade of addictions including drugs, alcohol, and bulimia. Her sister, Larissa, shares her insights on loving an addict and what helped in this universally difficult situation. Ultimately, Lenaya and Larissa articulate the ways The Lord guides and protects through trials.
Acerca del autor: Lenaya Andersen has a BA in Secondary Education and an MA in English Literature. She currently teaches English composition at UNR and TMCC. Larissa Cherpeski has a BS in Psychology from BYU and an MA in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. Active in the LDS church all her life and six years older than Lenaya, she has lived through her sister’s addictions. She and her husband live in Oregon with their five children. She currently works part-time as a child and adolescent outpatient counselor.
