91 pages; Publisher's pictorial wrappers. Two-inch closed tear at the fore-edge of the front wrapper, and a small crease at the lower corner. Small stamp at the foot of the title page: "Withdrawn Smithsonian Institution." There is also the faint Surplus-Duplicate stamp of the Library of Congress in purple ink on the front cover. Sale catalogue of the collection formed by John H. A. Klauder, whose devotion to the arts of the orient extended to having a Japanese garden designed by Teitoko Morimoto at his Philadelphia mansion on Allegheny Avenue. Klauder died in 1908, but the prefatory text to this scarce sale catalogue states that the bulk of the cataloging was done before the collector's death. Klauder started collecting in the mid-1870's -- "before the markets were filled with counterfeit Japanese objet's d'art." The catalogue was prepared by Tozo Takayanagi, and completed by Noboku Moromoto, assisted by M. Matsuo.
