Paperback. "Parnassus en Route" is a charming and curated anthology of poetry centered on the themes of travel and the exploration of the world. Compiled by Kenneth Horan, this collection serves as a literary companion for the wanderer, gathering together verses that capture the spirit of various locales, from the historic streets of Europe to distant natural wonders. The work highlights the intersection of place and the poetic imagination, showcasing how the experience of travel has served as a primary muse for writers across generations. The anthology features a wide array of poems that evoke the atmosphere, history, and beauty of specific destinations. By organizing these works into a cohesive journey, Horan provides readers with a map of the world as seen through the eyes of some of literature's most observant figures. Each selection contributes to a larger narrative about the human desire to explore, witness, and document the grandeur of the globe. Whether focusing on the quiet beauty of a countryside or the monumental presence of ancient cities, "Parnassus en Route" celebrates the enduring power of the travel experience and its profound influence on the poetic tradition. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
