Topping is an emeritus professor of computational mechanics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and an honorary professor at the Pollack Mihaly Faculty of Engineering at the University of Pécs in Hungary. P. Iványi is head of the department of system and software engineering at the Pollack Mihaly Faculty of Engineering at the University of Pécs in Hungary.
