Toombs Sullivan rides with his Company of Texas Rangers into the Texas Panhandle-a harsh, untamed land known as the South Plains.
It is a country long ruled by buffalo, hunted by traders and hunters, and fiercely claimed by the Comanche. But now the great herds are being wiped out, and with them, a way of life. The Comanches are angry... and they want vengeance.
As violence spreads across the frontier, Sullivan and his men are thrown into the heart of a brutal new war-one where survival is never certain and mercy is in short supply.
Outnumbered, outmatched, and deep in hostile territory, the Rangers must face an enemy who knows the land, the fight... and how to disappear without a trace.
