Descripción del artículo del vendedor

A collection of three very smart volumes with unclipped dust wrappers, including a first edition anthology. Three very smart volumes in publisher's original binding, with unclipped dust wrappers. Each with a red tinted text block top edge. Volume one is the first edition to publish the collected essays within together. These essays first appeared in newspaper and magazine publications, in which James commented on Ruskin, Turner, Whistler, Sargent and the Impressionists, among many others. It was first published in 1901, and follows a weekend party in the countryside, during which the narrator attempts to unravel the romantic secrets of those around him. Featuring an introductory essay by Leon Edel. Bound in original red cloth. With unclipped dust wrappers. Externally, very smart. Very mild bumping to extremities. The odd very minor mark to boards. Bookplates of Peter Ford to front free endpapers. Dust wrappers very smart, with mild chipping to extremities. Moderate sunning to dust wrapper spines. Mild mark to vol1 dust wrapper front cover. Very mild tide mark to vol2 dust wrapper spine. very slight tide mark to vol3 dust wrapper head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean. The odd spot to text block edges.
