As Kori pursues a career in dance and finds both national and international success, she also succumbs to the pressures of self-doubt and the need for both control and escape, falling victim to a serious eating disorder and an eventual drug addiction. Haunted by voices, she learns to suppress her demons, fighting to keep them at bay, especially when she meets the man of her dreams, Clint, with whom she would marry and have four girls. Clint soon becomes her rock, even as she both hides her issues from him and fights to overcome them. Kori seems to be on the right track, this close to finding true blissWhen Kori felt him take his last breath and watched as the arm that was holding her suddenly dropped limply to his side, she hadn't just unexpectedly lost her husband and the father of their four daughters. She lost her pillar of strength and what she thought was her last chance at salvation from the demons that had haunted most of her life. As the days and months passed, Kori felt herself slipping back into the old familiar darkness. She wondered who would now set her free . and how.Paddle Out exposes a woman fighting for something greater and finding solace in embracing the process, reflecting back, focusing on herself for once and listening to the guidance of a familiar muse speaking to her from beyond. As Kori tiptoes on the edge of that slippery slope, she feels compelled by Clint's sweet and sarcastic spirit to not just get help, but also to surrender to the process, let go of the fear, and laugh at the pain as she shares her story and bares the truth on her quest to catharsis, happiness and a brighter future.…
