Through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program, she was commissioned as an ensign in the United States Navy's Civil Engineer Corps. Ms. Hartmann is the owner and CEO of Exxo Consulting,LLC, which provides training, professional services, and advice to businesses seeking design and constructioncontracts with federal and state agencies.
