Reseña del editor: The GWR hoped that the OWW railway from Oxford to Worcester would extend the tentacles of the broad gauge northward, but in the event, only standard gauge trains ever provided the service on this line linking these important centres. The first part of two takes a detailed look at the essentially rural route from Oxford to Worcester, through beautiful Cotswold countryside, somehow so redolent of the Great Western. Informative captions enhance the pictures, which are not just of trains and the varied motive power in steam days, but also cover all the stations, plus signal boxes, freight yards and tunnels, the whole giving a good account of the line's fortunes over the years.
