Descripción del artículo del vendedor

Original billhead (Statement of Account) printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink and pencil. Datelined August 1, 1900 in Sacramento, California. Statement includes a printed, unfilled-in date of "189_." 5 1/2"" x 4 3/4." Paper is relatively fragile. Billhead is very clean and intact except for light age toning, a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, a few tiny closed tears on front-left edge, and a paper stubbed tipped in at bottom edge on back. A Very Good copy. An original billhead (Statement of Account) from Standard Oil Company of Sacramento, California to Frank Kunsting of Franklin, California. The statement includes two numerical entries for July 18 and 26. Pencil inscription below the transactions notes that this statement, bill, or invoice was paid to Standard Oil on August 9, 1900. The printed header reads, "To Standard Oil Company, Dr." Standard Oil Company was an American oil production, refining, transportation, and marketing company. It was founded in 1863 by John D. Rockefeller and Henry Flagler and incorporated in 1870. While Standard Oil became one of the most profitable oil businesses in the world at the time, it was not without controversy. Standard Oil was a monopoly and used questionable business tactics to suppress competition. Following the passage of antitrust legislation, Standard Oil was eventually dissolved in 1911 when the United States Supreme Court ruled that it was an illegal monopoly. Standard Oil was subsequently broken into forty-three companies including BP, Chevron, and ExxonMobil.
