Descripción
Joseph D. Bryant (1845-1914) was a surgeon, NY City Health commissioner, Pres. Grover Cleveland's personal physican, Pres. of the NY Academy of Medicine, etc. This was first issued as a two volume set in 1884, and this 4th 1905 Edition was "Printed from new plates entirely revised and largely rewritten, contains eight hundred and ninety eight illustrations, sixty one of which are colored." Please Note: This is Volume 2 ONLY of the two volume set and covers "Operations of the viscera connected with the peritonaeum, the scrotum and penis, and miscellaneous operations, including those for some deformities of the external ear." Volume 1 of the set covered other operations. Original half leather covers--the leather spine has gilt spine lettering, and is over dark red textured cloth covers with leather spine tips. The corners of the covers are worn and the spine is somewhat sun-faded, else the book is in clean, tight and unmarked condition with the exception of an old owner name in an old hand: L. H.
