3 1/2 in. x 6 in., [80]pp. blank notebook with ruled pages, and printed publisher/maker's mark & product number (3586), in blue on back endpaper. Black, leather-textured cloth, with tan paper endpapers. The first 44 pages contain various clippings from Mechanical Digest, and similar magazine, newspapers, that print technical formulas, household hints, etc. These have been pasted to both sides of the pages, 15 other, larger loose clippings have been inserted into the back pages. The covers show chipping and wear, with some chewing to a few page margings, tanning to clippings. Assembled by a person in Northern Ohio, who probably had a use for some of these formulas. Subjects include: Furniture polish, toothache wax, magic dry cleaner, silver polish, removing bottle corks, cleaning water pipes in autos, "Dead shot diptheria cure"; "hand grenades"; fire extinguishers; "The Ten Commandments in Business"; wild cherry wine, silvering mirrors, asthma remedy, "trap nest for the hen", cure for warts, vinegar for smallpox, dog soap, "the poultry yard": bonding new concrete to old, "lemons a good summer friend";from the loose clippings: Gasoline engine & automotive formulas, Rubber & leather cement, motorcycle kinks: cleaning belts & other tips, "feeding potatoes to hogs"; clean a shellac brush, removing paint marks from paint, "eat apples"; "for fine doughnuts"; luminous paints, dustless dust cloth, "for mosquitoes"; "Pension Roll of Honor" (1897); "John Morgan convicted (of three murders) at Ripley, W.
