Archie Hunter’s reminiscences begin in 1924 when, at the age of 18, he left Scotland to serve anywhere in North America, in whatever capacity the Hudson’s Bay Company required, for a term of 5 years. Repulse Bay, Wager Inlet, Baker Lake, Lac du Brochet, Telegraph Creek and several other locations and several decades of service have accumulated to provide an autobiography adventure in its truest sense; the portrayal of a life unlike anything we know today. Over 160 black and white photographs, heretofore unpublished, accompany the text… a text brimful of meetings with Sergeant W. O. Douglas, Charles Lindbergh and like figures who are a significant part of our history. This large book, 151 pages is in near-fine condition. There are slight spots on the front of the pages and there is a gift inscription on the half-title. The dust jacket is also in near-fine condition and is now enclosed in a protective mylar wrap. Overall, a very attractive story of the North.…
