nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - In a world of truncated ambitions and collective amnesia, the city of Vel Haran has forgotten its true name as Node Seven of the Southern Relay Constellation. For twenty thousand years, the remnants of a sophisticated technological infrastructure known as the Grid have remained buried beneath the earth, running at a reduced but measurable capacity that only a few can still perceive. Jaelen is one such person-a retrieval operative with a 'Null-Scar' at the base of his skull that allows him to hear the subsonic pressure of the Grid's active relay architecture. His latest contract to retrieve a mysterious cylindrical cache from a decommissioned substation pulls him into a mission that has been decades in the making. The retrieved artifact is the Silicon Cross, a primary resonance tool built by ancient architects in the months following the Sharding-a catastrophic event that ended a civilization capable of transmitting human consciousness across the stars. Jaelen is revealed to be a Compatible Host, the first in twenty millennia capable of sustained contact with the Cross. Guided by Elara and the ancient Yosef Armand-a man who has spent twenty thousand years biologically interfaced with the Grid to keep its light on-Jaelen must carry the Cross 1,200 kilometers across dangerous contested zones to the Primary Spire.Standing in their way is the Arch-Inquisitor Hael-Fave and the Order of the Iron Cross, who enforce a doctrine of Holy Silence to suppress the Grid's residual signal. To the Inquisition, the Grid is a source of spiritual contamination and unbearable grief, carrying the interrupted reaches of three hundred thousand souls lost during the Sharding. As Jaelen approaches the Spire, he must decide whether to maintain the silence or complete the Sync-an act that would contextualize twenty thousand years of grief and allow every soul within range to finally be heard. In this high-stakes race against time and theology, the scavenger who became the signal must choose between the safety of isolation and the profound risk of human connection.…

Acerca del autor
Rane Corvus operates in the shadows of the speculative genre, blending neo-noir aesthetics with occult intrigue. Corvus's narratives explore the darker corners of the Sacred Timeline, where mystery and danger converge. Known for atmospheric prose and complex anti-heroes, Corvus is a vital voice for the Ignite imprint's more edge-driven catalog.
