Críticas
“Not just good, but important. A haunting shot across the bow of the worst the Internet has to offer. A stunning and electric debut.” -Donny Cates
“A masterful blend of message and sensation, No. 1 With a Bullet reveals the other side of our bare-all culture and dangerous double standards.” -Vita Ayala
“A cross-genre of Elmore Leonard crime and David Lynch unease, No. 1 With a Bullet is a strange and vibrant slice of modern day horror.” -Steve Orlando
“Unsettling and all too real, No. 1 With a Bullet takes the comforts of everyday and turns them into sharp knives and heavy stones.” -Christopher Sebela
LIBRARY JOURNAL -- Social media maven Nash Huang's life is turned upside down when a secretly recorded sex tape goes viral. As she struggles to retain what's left of her identity in the ensuing chaos, a superfan calling himself “Your No. 1” emerges from the digital world, taunting Nash online and inserting himself into her physical environment. The writer/illustrator team of Semahn and Corona (GONERS), joined by colorist Jen Hickman and letterer Steve Wands, use a striking combination of jarring and moody visuals and a suspenseful mystery to probe the potential ramifications of technological progress, addressing current concerns with cybersecurity, privacy, and the troubling double standards applied to women and their sexuality. Nash's ability to see is filtered in Corona's Eisner Award-nominated cover, which cautions us to be wary of truth and fiction on the Internet and how privacy is always disregarded if there's something juicy to be gained. Collects single issues 1-6 of the ongoing series. Verdict A great read for fans of modern thrillers, this frightening story powerfully echoes real-world experiences of what happens when people lose control of their digital image. Explicit themes and language make this recommended for older teens and adults.
“No. 1 With a Bullet takes our fears about cyber security and throws them back in our terrified faces.” -Erica Schultz
