TomNix fought his way up from the mean streets of San Pedro to revolutionize (and sanitize) check cashing services. While the Beastie Boys* sang about Nix Check Cashing, he was hit with armed robberies, cutthroat competition, the L.A. Riots, and an assassination threat by the Chicago Mob--overcoming it all to serve urban communities. Tom's company became a valued and trusted financial institution across southern California.

Reflecting on the extreme business environment surrounding him, Tom writes about the crucial decisions of his leadership, and the principles that guided him. Juggling family, financial pressures, heavy drinking and negativity, he changed his life and mind for the positive, and never gave up or gave in. NIXLAND informs and entertains with hard-won wisdom on every page.
