The extraordinary story of Andre Hue, who at the age of 20 was parachuted into France with the task of coordinating resistance to the Germans in Brittany, tying up German troops so they could not be diverted to fight against the Allied Normandy invasions. He risked immediate death if caught, as did the Breton farmers who hid British and American airmen. For his efforts he was awarded the highest military honours by both the French and British governments. This book, a story of unbelievable courage and brutality, is based on a narrative written by Hue himself immediately after the war but never published. It offers an unforgettable portrait of operations behind the enemy line.
