- Political Theory and History
Turn crisis into a blueprint for a better world through a Christian social vision.
In the wake of global upheaval, this book presents a bold program to rethink how society is organized. It argues that a just, democratic social order can emerge by rebuilding industries, institutions, and international life on Christian principles. The text frames the era as a call to action for citizens, workers, church leaders, and policymakers alike.
Readers will encounter a clear plan for reconstruction—from shaping industry and national policy to the role of the church in public life. It emphasizes the need to rethink ownership, public utilities, taxation, and social welfare to serve the common good. The aim is a healthier, more equitable society rooted in the kingdom of God, with practical steps ready to consider in law, education, and community life.
- Foundations for a new social order based on justice and democratic principles
- Strategies for socializing industry, resources, and essential public services
- A vision of church unity and civic responsibility as engines of reform
- The call to translate faith into practical policies that lift lives
Ideal for readers of history, theology, and social reform who want a practical, faith-informed roadmap for rebuilding society.
The New World Order offers a focused, historically grounded argument for transforming the social order in light of Christian values.“Sinopsis” puede pertenecer a otra edición de este título.
Reseña del editor
The book opens with a discussion of the international community following the Great War. "The world is in a transition period," states Batten in his introductory remarks. The author, being a man of the church, argues that a shared religious faith is necessary to bring the world together in peace. The book is divided into chapters, which individually focus on the rebuilding of the global community, the democratization of industry, the socialization of the nation, the reconstruction of international life, and the church's role in healing after a crisis. The author argues for a form of international government and a breaking down of the barriers created between nations.
Batten's socialist and religious leanings are apparent throughout the text. The author pines for an almost utopian society where individuals are global citizens connected by a single religious faith. That is not to say that Batten's work is without merit or is uninteresting. Those interested in counter culture literature with a particularly religious focus will likely find this to be an interesting read.
The New World Order is one of many published works by authors seeking to suggest a new path for society. It is an interesting read, if not a wholly practical solution to the problems of the world. Those interested in the subject matter will likely find this book worthy of the time investment.
