Paperback. "New Paths on Helicon, a Collection of Modern Poetry" is a refined anthology of early 20th-century verse, curated by the esteemed poet and critic Henry Newbolt. This second volume completes a comprehensive survey of the shifting landscape of English poetry during a pivotal era of artistic transition. The collection captures the spirit of a generation seeking to forge new paths in literary expression, moving beyond Victorian conventions to explore more contemporary sensibilities and techniques. The work features a diverse selection of poets who defined the modern era of the 1920s, offering readers a broad perspective on the themes of nature, war, urban life, and the human condition. Newbolt's expertise is evident in the selection and organization of the material, providing both a historical record of poetic taste and a vibrant showcase of lyrical innovation. Each entry contributes to a larger dialogue about the role of poetry in a changing world, making this volume an essential resource for students of literature and lovers of classic verse. This anthology stands as a significant contribution to the study of modernist literature, preserving the voices that shaped the future of the craft. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
