Sinopsis:

At the time the first edition was written, there was a need for a well-referenced text to interpret and analyze current scientific knowledge in clinical practice and to provide a clinically applicable text in the musculoskeletal area of physiotherapy that was academically rigorous. The second edition builds upon the foundation provided in the first edition and introduces new material in areas previously lacking in evidence. The second edition uses a similar approach to that of the first edition. That is, the evidence is examined and application to the clinical setting discussed. In the first edition, the paradigm of contemporary physiotherapy practice was explored. In the second more detailed information is presented about the explicit and implicit assumptions that form the basis of current practice.

Críticas: "This book is a must for undergraduate libraries and for clinicians wishing to update their approach to clinical decision-making" Review of First Edition, Therapy Weekly, December 1995
is an excellent book which I highly recommend to anyone who is serious about manipulative therapy. It makes a very valuable contribution to manipulative therapy knowledge by evaluating clinical practice in light of scientific knowledge"Physiotherapy, March 1996
is not some dry old textbook but is extremely readable and I only wish that it had been around when I was training or in my first outpatient rotation- it would have been a constant companion at my side! I would definitely recommend a student or a department investing their money in a copy.
" Sue Mickleburgh, December 2004

"This is a book we should all read. All students, both late-stage undergraduates and postgraduates should read this book. It's not expensive, it's easy to read and contains much that we should all know"
In Touch, Spring 2005, Paul Johnson MSc, BSc, MCSP, MMACP
