This book is open access. Media forensics has never been more relevant to societal life. Not only media content represents an ever-increasing share of the data traveling on the net and the preferred communications means for most users, it has also become integral part of most innovative applications in the digital information ecosystem that serves various sectors of society, from the entertainment, to journalism, to politics. Undoubtedly, the advances in deep learning and computational imaging contributed significantly to this outcome. The underlying technologies that drive this trend, however, also pose a profound challenge in establishing trust in what we see, hear, and read, and make media content the preferred target of malicious attacks.
In this new threat landscape powered by innovative imaging technologies and sophisticated tools, based on autoencoders and generative adversarial networks, this book fills an important gap. It presents a comprehensive review of state-of-the-art forensics capabilities that relate to media attribution, integrity and authenticity verification, and counter forensics. Its content is developed to provide practitioners, researchers, photo and video enthusiasts, and students a holistic view of the field.

Acerca del autor
Husrev Taha Sencar is a principal scientist with the cyber-security group of the Qatar Computing Research Institute, HBKU, and an associate professor at Computer Eng. Department of TOBB University, Ankara, Turkey. Between 2012 and 2015, he served as the director of the New York University Abu Dhabi’s Center for Cyber-Security in UAE. He published more than 90 articles on topics related to digital forensics, information hiding, and biometrics. He was the technical program chair for the 2016 IEEE Workshop on Information Forensics and Security. He served in the PC of several conferences with a focus on digital forensics, such as WIFS, IS&T MWSF, ICME, EUSIPCO. He also served on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security and continues to serve on the board of IEEE Transactions on Image Processing. His research has primarily focused on building and implementing advanced forensic capabilities that relate to extraction, search and organization, attribution, and authentication of digital evidence.
Dr. Luisa Verdoliva is an associate professor at University Federico II of Naples, Italy, where she leads the Multimedia Forensics Lab. Her scientific interests are in the field of image and video processing, with main contributions in the area of multimedia forensics. She has published over 120 academic publications, including 45 journal papers. She has actively contributed to the academic community through service as general co-chair of the 2019 ACM Workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security, technical chair of the 2019 IEEE Workshop in Information Forensics and Security, and area chair of the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing since 2017. She is on the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security and IEEE Signal Processing Letters. Dr. Verdoliva is a chair of the IEEE Information Forensics and Security Technical Committee. She is the recipient of the 2018 Google Faculty Award for Machine Perception and a TUM-IAS Hans Fischer Senior Fellowship (2020-2023). She has been elected to the grade of IEEE Fellow, effective January 1, 2021. Nasir Memon is a vice-dean for Academics and Student Affairs and a professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering. He is an affiliate faculty at the Computer Science department in NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and department head of NYU Tandon Online. He introduced cyber-security studies to NYU Tandon in 1999, making it one of the first schools to implement the program at the undergraduate level. He is a co-founder of NYU's Center for Cyber-Security (CCS) at New York as well as NYU Abu Dhabi. He is the founder of the OSIRIS Lab, CSAW, the Bridge to Tandon Program as well as the Cyber-Fellows program at NYU. He has received several best paper awards and awards for excellence in teaching. He has been on the editorial boards of several journals, and wasthe editor-in-chief of the IEEE Transactions on Information Security and Forensics. He is an IEEE Fellow and an SPIE Fellow for his contributions to image compression and media security and forensics. El periodo de desistimiento vencerá a los 14 días desde que usted, o un tercero que no sea el transportista e indicado por usted, adquiera la posesión física del último bien o del último lote o pieza.
Para ejercer el derecho de desistimiento, complete de forma electrónica y envíe una declaración clara en nuestro sitio web, desde "Mis compras" en "Mi cuenta". Le enviaremos sin demora un acuse de recibo de dicho desistimiento a través de un soporte duradero (por ejemplo, por correo electrónico).
Para cumplir con el plazo de desistimiento, basta con que envíe su comunicación relativa al ejercicio del derecho de desistimiento antes de que venza el periodo de desistimiento.
Efectos del desistimiento
Si rescinde este contrato, le reembolsaremos todos los pagos que hayamos recibido de usted, incluidos los gastos de envío (excepto los gastos adicionales que surjan si elige un tipo de envío que no sea el tipo de envío estándar más económico que ofrecemos).
Podemos hacer una deducción del reembolso por la pérdida de valor de cualquier bien suministrado, si la pérdida es el resultado de una manipulación innecesaria por su parte.
Efectuaremos el reembolso sin demoras indebidas y, a más tardar, 14 días después de que se nos informe de su decisión de rescindir este contrato.
Efectuaremos el reembolso utilizando el mismo medio de pago que utilizó para la transacción inicial, a menos que haya acordado expresamente lo contrario; en cualquier caso, no incurrirá en ningún cargo como resultado de dicho reembolso.

Deberá devolver los bienes o entregarlos a Kennys Bookshop and Art Galleries Ltd., Galway, GY, Ireland, sin demoras indebidas y, en cualquier caso, en un plazo máximo de 14 días a partir del día en que nos comunique su desistimiento del presente contrato. El plazo se cumple si devuelve la mercancía antes de que venza el periodo de 14 días. Tendrá que asumir los gastos directos de devolución de los bienes. Excepciones al derecho de desistimiento
El derecho de desistimiento no se aplica a lo siguiente:
- La entrega de periódicos, diarios o revistas, con la excepción de los contratos de suscripción; y
- El suministro de contenido digital que no se proporcione en un soporte tangible (por ejemplo, en un CD o DVD) si, al hacer el pedido, aceptó que podíamos empezar a entregarlo y que no podría desistir una vez iniciada la entrega.
