The Sacred Grove awaits. The dead whisper. And the boy who carries a cursed blade walks deeper into darkness.
Erikson Gray believed that wielding Lightbearer would grant him strength. Instead, it has shackled him to a history of bloodshed and ruin. The whispers of the blade grow stronger, urging him toward paths best left untread. In search of answers, he journeys to the Sacred Grove, a forgotten land where the boundary between life and death is thin, and the trees hold secrets darker than the grave.
But the deeper Erik delves, the more the truth unravels him. The weight of his lineage, the betrayals lurking in his past, and the curse entwining him with Lightbearer threaten to break him. Allies turn uncertain, and his own reflection feels less like a boy and more like something monstrous.
As shadows coil around him and the past rises from its grave, Erik must make an impossible choice: hold onto the last fragments of himself—or surrender to the blade and become something else entirely.
The Mourning Son is a tale of unraveling identity, buried truths, and the thin line between power and corruption. In the end, there is no light without shadow. And some legacies should have been left forgotten.
