Money Counting Workbook for Kids

Helping kids learn to count money does not need to be confusing or stressful. This workbook breaks everything down into small, easy steps that children can follow with confidence. Every page is designed for kids, with clear instructions, lots of visuals, and gentle practice. Kids learn what coins and bills look like, what they are worth, how to write money amounts, and how to use money in real-life situations. The activities build slowly so children feel successful from beginning to end.

The workbook starts with all the basic coins. Children learn the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, and one-dollar coin. They trace the names, circle the correct coins, match coins to values, and learn how to recognize money quickly. After that, they meet every U.S. bill from $1 to $100, learning both the front and back of each one. These pages give kids a strong foundation before they ever work with totals or change.

As the workbook moves forward, children learn how coins and bills can show amounts together. They write money in cents and dollars, match amounts to pictures, compare values, and practice writing money in word form. Once they are ready, kids learn how to add coins, add bills, and add mixed sets of money. Everything is shown step by step with examples first and practice second. When children finish this unit, they understand how to combine dollars and cents and how to find totals in simple situations.

The making change unit teaches real-world subtraction in a gentle way. Kids learn how to make change from different bills. They complete short sentences, circle the correct change, match change amounts, and solve small shopping stories. The final unit brings everything together with real-life pages like menus, price tags, grocery items, and pretend play stores. Children read prices, pick items within a budget, compare costs, and solve everyday word problems. These skills help them understand what money looks like outside the workbook.
