The Dyfi Valley Bookshop was established by Barbara Beeby in 1988 in a conservation area of the ancient market town of Machynlleth, mid-Wales. It has a relaxing atmosphere, a wood burner in winter, and a friendly black labrador, Lochie. We have a large general stock in addition to the specialist subject matter listed on this page. The town itself is very attractive and well worth a visit, situated as it is in the lovely valley of the river Dyfi (Dovey) which runs through the hills to the Irish Sea at Aberdyfi nine miles away.
