This volume features the essential foundational biographical prefix, "some Account of the Life and Writings of the Author," compiled by his close friend and literary executor, Thomas Tickell.What elevates this copy is its outstanding regional provenance. The upper margin of the title page bears an elegant, crisp 19th-century ownership inscription in iron gall ink: "Eliza Galt, Coleraine June 16th 1804." Furthermore, the rear flyleaf contains detailed, hand-inked cross-references highlighting specific tourist locations (including Marino, Loretto, Vesuvius, Capua, Rome, and Geneva) alongside specialized subjects like "Musick" and "a Hermit."
