While the four Gospels (Matt., Mark, Luke, and John) discuss similar aspects of the life and times of our Lord's public ministry to Israel [Rom. 15:8], each of the Four Gospels writers have their unique purpose and reason for writing their Gospel. Matthew emphasizes the King and Kingdom of God, with the uniqueness of Jesus to fulfill what is written by the prophets, Mat. 5Z:17, 18. John is evangelist to Judea and Jerusalem.
