Miracle Hour: A Method of Prayer That Will Change Your Life
Miracle Hour: A Method of Prayer That Will Change Your Life by Linda Schubert is one of the most widely used and beloved Catholic/Christian prayer guides of the past 30+ years. This little booklet has helped over one million people in more than 25 countries establish or deepen a daily prayer life. Its genius is simplicity and balance: it takes the often intimidating idea of spending a full hour in prayer and breaks it into twelve easy 5-minute segments.
Key Elements:
- It works for beginners who don't know where to start.
- It also refreshes mature believers who struggle with dryness or distraction in prayer.
- It creates a structured yet Spirit-led "power encounter" with God -- a time of cleansing, consecration, healing, and growth.
- It is practical, repeatable, and gentle -- many use it daily or several times a week, and it has become a staple in inner-healing ministries, prayer groups, RCIA, and personal devotion.
Schubert provides a clear, Scripture-soaked framework that turns prayer time from a chore into a loving dialogue with the Lord. Countless readers testify that faithfully using Miracle Hour has brought breakthroughs in their relationship with God, emotional healing, and daily peace.

Structure - The 12 Sections (5 minutes each)
The 12 sections are:
- Praise (Litany of Praise / honoring God for who He is)
- Sing to the Lord (worship through song or spontaneous singing)
- Spiritual Warfare (putting on the armor of God and taking authority over evil)
- Surrender (total yielding of your life, will, and circumstances to God)
- Release of the Holy Spirit (inviting the Holy Spirit to fill and empower you)
- Repentance (honest confession and turning from sin)
- Forgiveness (releasing hurts and forgiving others -- a major emphasis)
- Scripture Reflections (praying with and listening to God's Word)
- Wait for the Lord (listening / silent time with God)
- Thanksgiving (gratitude for blessings and answered prayer)
- Intercession (praying for others, family, church, world needs)
- Closing / Blessing or Praise (sealing the time with final surrender and joy)
Each section includes sample prayers, short Scripture passages, and simple instructions so you know exactly what to do.
Key Themes
- Structured yet flexible prayer -- A balanced "method" that covers all the essential elements of healthy Christian prayer without becoming rigid or mechanical.
- Intimacy with God -- Prayer as a real, two-way relationship and "power encounter" rather than a religious duty.
- Cleansing and inner healing -- Strong focus on repentance, forgiveness, and releasing emotional wounds so God's grace can flow freely.
- Surrender and openness -- Letting go of control and inviting the Holy Spirit to lead.
- Spiritual warfare -- Recognizing and resisting the enemy's influence through the authority of Jesus.
- Expectancy and transformation -- Approaching prayer with faith that God will meet you and bring real change ("miracle moments").
- Accessibility for all -- Written in warm, compassionate language so anyone -- new believer or longtime Christian -- can use it effectively.
In short, Miracle Hour is the foundational booklet in Linda Schubert's prayer series. It gives people a practical "how-to" for spending quality time with God every day, and it has quietly changed countless lives by making deep, life-giving prayer simple and doable. If you've enjoyed her other short books (True Confessions, Miracle Moments), this is the heart of her message -- a gentle, powerful daily prayer companion.
