This book provides an in-depth analysis of the effects of physical and chemical manipulation utilizing both SPM and UV techniques on various model polymers. The book centres upon the identification and characterization of the nano-mechanical factors governing the processes which lead to the creation of 3-dimensional polymeric architecture, and to appreciably extend the current primary technologies employed to individually modify small areas of a surface. The book will aid researchers and students alike to better understand the various processes associated in polymeric chemi- and physico-mechanical alteration via UV and SPM based manipulation, as well as aiding in identifying these various outcomes which may or may not be intended.
