Acerca del autor
Richard L. Garwin is Philip D. Reed Senior Fellow for Science and Technology at the Council on Foreign Relations and an adjunct professor of physics at Columbia University. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and of the Institute of Medicine. In 1996, he received the Enrico Fermi Award. He lives in Scarsdale, New York.<br><br>Georges Charpak is a member of the French <i>Académie des Sciences</i> and of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. He has long worked at the European Center for Particle Physics (CERN) in Geneva. He received the 1992 Nobel Prize in physics for his invention of electronic detectors of ionizing particles, used widely in physics, industry, and biology. He lives in Paris and Geneva.
