The huge consumption of earth’s natural resources and the reliance on industrial manufactured products have produced significant impacts on the environment. As such, new strategies must be adopted in order to support the protection and continued development of numerous natural resources. Mechanical Properties of Natural Fiber Reinforced Polymers: Emerging Research and Opportunities is a critical scholarly resource that examines green energy sources and material enhancements that will help to solve ecological problems. Featuring coverage on a broad range of topics, such as harvesting techniques, origins of natural fibers, and modeling for textile composites, this book is geared towards engineers, researchers, scholars, and graduate students in the fields of materials science and engineering.

Acerca del autor
Ms. Sarah Gebai is a PhD student in Sciences, Engineering and Environment at the Ecole Nationale de Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), Paris, France. She received her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese International University, Beirut, Lebanon, her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese International University, Beirut, Lebanon.
Dr. Ali Hallal is an assistant Professor at the International University of Beirut. Dr. Hallal received his B.S. degree General Physics in 2008 from the Lebanese University Beirut, Lebanon, his M.S. degree in Mechanics 3M (Mechanics, Materials and Mechatronics) in 2009 from the Lebanese University, and his Ph.D. in Mechanics of Materials (Modeling of the elastic properties of textile composites) in 2012 from Versailles University (UVSQ), Versailles, France and from the Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon.
Dr. Mohammad Hammoud is an assistant Professor at the International University of Beirut. Dr. Hammoud received his PhD in Solid Mechanics and Materials from Ecole Nationale de Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC), Paris, France, his Masters in Materials and Manufacturing Process from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM), Paris, France, his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon. Dr. Hammoud worked as a Post Doctorate at the Prime Institute of Physics and Mechanics (ENSMA - Poitiers - France) in the domain of model reduction using the PGD applied to the viscoelasticity of polymers. He worked as a research engineer at the Navier Institute (ENPC – Paris - France) in the development of numerical methods for the coupling between discrete and continuum media.
