Acerca del autor: Dr. Andrew S. Jackson is a professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston and an adjunct professor in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He has been a research consultant to the Cardio-pulmonary laboratory and NASA, Johnson Space Center (Houston) for 25 years. He has published extensively in the areas of exercise physiology, cardiology, and ergonomics. The focus of his research has been the application of measurement theory in these areas. He is best know for the publication of the Jackson-Pollock skinfold body composition prediction equations that have become one of the standard field methods used to measure body composition. His other research area has been in the development of valid preemployment tests for physically demanding jobs. This ergonomic research has not produced valid employment tests for hiring employees by major corporations, but also to testify as an expert in employment litigation.
