Matter, Life and Value. Este artículo no está disponible.Matter, Life and Value

In "Matter, Life and Value", C. E. M. Joad provides a comprehensive and systematic investigation into the foundational elements of existence. This work addresses the philosophical tension between materialist perspectives and the recognition of life and value as independent realities. Joad argues for a pluralistic worldview, contending that the universe cannot be reduced to simple physical components, but must instead be understood through the distinct categories of matter, life, and the objective realm of values.

The text explores critical themes in metaphysics and ethics, focusing on the nature of consciousness, the mechanics of vitalism, and the inherent status of truths such as beauty and goodness. By challenging the prevailing scientific naturalism of his era, Joad builds a case for a reality that is tiered and purposeful. "Matter, Life and Value" remains a significant text for understanding the development of 20th-century realism and the philosophical defense of spiritual and ethical values.

Ideal for readers interested in the intersection of science and philosophy, this work offers a clear and persuasive articulation of complex metaphysical problems. Joad's ability to synthesize broad intellectual traditions into a cohesive narrative ensures that "Matter, Life and Value" continues to be a relevant study in the search for meaning within the material world.
