(210x137mm), Manuscript Note Book of English History from the time of the Druids to 16th August 1816 and the suspension of the Habeas Corpus Act extracted from Goldsmith, Gibbon and the Oxford Encyclopaedia. "The history in Goldsmith and the Oxford Enclyclopaedia is not continued to any later date than this - & these notes are taken from these works. W. Hammond", followed by an extract from 'The Successful Engineer by B. Stuart' commencing "Our systems of Education are not based upon Philosophical Principles…" 3pp on 4 leaves followed by 4½ pp on miscellaneous subjects … Study of Words…. meaning, definition, synonyms et al culminating in 2pp written in pencil 'Love Child Syn. bastard' et al.244pp being 242pp neatly written in ink with red notes and underlining probably an exercise in self improvement by a young man. C. 1875, written on blue lined paper with a red margin. Bound in original brown pebble grain cloth, wear to head & tail of spine & corners, marked & worn, however sound & tight & contents very good.
