These six life-altering words didn’t echo through a quiet sanctuary or a peaceful prayer room. They were spoken directly into the soul of Reverend Rodney T. McDuffie as he lay strapped to a stretcher, trapped inside a speeding ambulance fighting for his very life.

It started as an ordinary afternoon of routine martial arts training—something he did to keep his physical form in top shape, but it quickly spiraled into a sudden, catastrophic heart attack. In a matter of hours, Rev. McDuffie went from a disciplined, strong man in peak physical condition to a vulnerable patient staring into the eyes of his own mortality.

The Lord Heard Me is a a testimony of survival, faith, and the quiet wars fought in the dark corners of our minds. The third of Rev. McDuffie’s works, he presents that while modern medicine successfully repaired his physical heart, an entirely new battle emerged beneath the surface.
