Look at the Mess I Made
A heartfelt (and hilarious) celebration of our most human failures
Everyone has made a real mess of things at some point — from the small slip-ups that become funny stories to the monumental ones that turn into quiet regrets.
This book is about all of them.
With sharp humor, honest vulnerability, and a rare emotional clarity, Paulo Cesar Martins turns everyday mistakes into stories that make us laugh, reflect, and — above all — see ourselves.
Across 12 chapters, the author explores some of the most common stumbles of modern life:
• saying “yes” way too quickly
• sending impulsive messages
• acting without thinking — and losing emotional control
• trying to save money… and spending three times more
• letting small favors turn into big problems
• arguing over nonsense
• letting tiny lies snowball into avalanches
• letting pride cost more than it should
• trying to solve everything alone
• hurting someone simply by forgetting
• letting the ego take over
• living life on autopilot
With a gentle, humorous, and deeply human narrative, Paulo shows that making mistakes is inevitable — but growing from them is a daily choice.
His reflections blend humor, psychology, self-awareness, and that poetic self-sabotage we all know too well.
This is not a book about perfection.
It’s a book about you. About me. About all of us.
An invitation to laugh at our own missteps, understand our emotions, and live with more intention, more presence, and far less guilt.
If you’ve ever thought, “Look at the mess I made,” — this book is for you.
And if you haven’t said it yet… don’t worry. Your time will come.
Perfect for readers seeking lightness, reflection, and humanity in the chaos of everyday life.
