Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a major cause of death in most countries in the Western world. Much has been written about the importance of lipids, particularly cholesterol, in determining CHD risk. This book is divided into sections which can be read independently and discusses the contribution of lipids and other risk factors to the current epidemic of coronary heart disease. It covers the causes of CHD and its epidemiology, the investigation and management of hyperlipidaemia and the means by which CHD may be reduced in the population.
