Neuware - 'Life Expectancy of Physical Property' is a pioneering study in the fields of engineering economics and industrial management. Written by Edwin B. Kurtz, an experienced electrical engineer, the work introduces a scientific approach to determining the lifespan and depreciation of physical assets. By applying statistical methods and mortality principles typically used in life insurance to industrial equipment and utility infrastructure, Kurtz provides a rigorous framework for predicting how long machinery and property will remain in productive service. The book examines the use of life curves and mortality tables to analyze the survival of various types of physical property. It offers detailed explorations of depreciation calculations, salvage values, and the financial implications of asset replacement cycles. Kurtz's work bridges the gap between accounting and engineering, providing essential tools for managers and economists to evaluate capital investments and long-term maintenance strategies. 'Life Expectancy of Physical Property' remains a foundational text for understanding the mathematical predictability of asset failure and the economic life of industrial resources. This work is an invaluable resource for professionals involved in utility management, valuation, and industrial engineering who seek a deeper understanding of the factors that govern the durability and exhaustion of physical property. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
