“When body and mind align, the heart’s not far behind.”
Joanna Daniels has done everything expected of her. She married her childhood sweetheart though the marriage was doomed from the beginning. When he didn’t make it back from deployment, she played the grieving widow. Then her mother died, and she remained the dutiful daughter and older sister, taking care of her family in their grief. Now that she’s no longer responsible for anyone else, she finds herself drowning under the weight of dreams unfulfilled. Everything changes when she decides it’s time to live life on her own terms.
Reggie “Junior” Thompson has always followed his own path. Though his parents wanted him to be a doctor, he made his own career path as a ranch hand, caring for the animals. They’d hoped he’d stay close to home, so he moved six hours away to a ranch on the other side of the mountains. Now, when his mother asks about his love life and potential grandchildren, he deflects with excuses of not finding the right woman, though he’s not even looking. Everything changes with a New Year’s Eve kiss under the mistletoe.
When she accepts a four-month contract as a stablehand in his barn, neither of them know the universe will test their resolve at every turn. Will they try to fight against the pull between them, or will they accept that their trails are meant to converge?
