A number of years ago, Tom Jones was asked to speak to a group of new disciples. The material that he shared with this group proved to be inspiring, grounding, and encouraging. It is that material that grew into these twenty-four personal letters to young disciples, now revised to reflect the changing and maturing of our ministries. As churches are being planted and getting healthier, we have more new disciples. This book is a great resource to put in their hands. Letters to New Disciples is a book directly from the heart of Tom Jones to the heart of the new disciple. Its effectiveness is seen in the following and other ways: (1) gives new disciples access to a father in the faith writing them short letters about issues they will face, (2) helps in the follow-up with new disciples, and (3) prepares them for temptations they will face.

Thomas Jones is currently a teacher in the Greater Nashville Church and editor emeritus for DPI. Tom had the honor of starting DPI in 1992 when the Boston church leadership asked him to begin a publishing work that would benefit the church worldwide. He served in the role of editor in chief of DPI for eight years. Tom has an MA in theology from Harding Graduate School and has written numerous books for DPI. He serves as the secretary of the board. He is married to Sheila, who is the executive director and managing editor of DPI. They have three grown daughters.
