Hardcover. "The Letters of Alfred Krupp 1826-1887" offers a profound and intimate look into the life and mind of one of history's most influential industrial titans. Edited by Wilhelm Berdrow, this collection of personal and business correspondence spans over sixty years, documenting the meteoric rise of the Krupp industrial empire from its modest beginnings in Essen to its status as a global powerhouse in steel and armaments production.Through these letters, readers gain unparalleled insight into the Industrial Revolution's impact on Germany and the personal drive required to lead a burgeoning conglomerate during an era of radical technological and political change. The correspondence reveals Krupp's relentless pursuit of technical excellence, his complex relationship with the Prussian state, and his visionary approach to labor and manufacturing. These documents serve not only as a biography of a man but as a primary source for the economic and social transformation of 19th-century Europe.Ideal for historians, students of industrial history, and those interested in the origins of modern corporate leadership, this volume captures the spirit of an age defined by iron and fire. Alfred Krupp's voice emerges as both a demanding patriarch and a tireless innovator, making this collection an essential resource for understanding the foundations of German industrial strength. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
