Нижче дніпрових порогів, на Хортиці, втікачі від панщини та степові воїни поставили фортецю з гострих колод і дали одне одному слово хто прийшов сюди - вільний, і своїх не лишають. Так постала Запорозька Січ.
Тут ви прочитаєте як народжувалася Січ і як загинув Байда-Вишневецький; як приймали до козацтва і що означали чуб та сережка; про морські походи на чайках; про Івана Сірка; як козаки писали листа султанові; про характерників і найбільшого з них - Кравчину; про козака Мамая; про гопак уночі як бойовий вишкіл; про руйнування Січі; про сліпих кобзарів, що несли пам'ять, коли все інше відібрали; і про козака, який сів говорити з Долею.

Efectos del desistimiento
