Paperback. "Lefthandedness a New Interpretation" is a pioneering scientific inquiry into the physiological origins and psychological implications of manual preference. Written by Beaufort Sims Parson, this work challenges the prevailing theories of its era by proposing that handedness is fundamentally linked to ocular dominance, or what the author terms "eye-mindedness." Through rigorous observation and data collection, Parson argues that the dominant eye dictates the dominant hand, providing a biological basis for a trait that had long been misunderstood or viewed through the lens of social convention. The text explores various facets of laterality, examining how sensory perception influences motor skills and physical development. By focusing on the anatomical relationship between the eyes and the brain's hemispheres, the author seeks to provide a definitive explanation for the existence of left-handedness in the human population. This work remains a significant historical document in the fields of physiological psychology and neuroscience, offering a window into early twentieth-century attempts to map the complexities of the human body and mind.Ideal for researchers, historians of science, and readers interested in the evolution of cognitive studies, "Lefthandedness a New Interpretation" serves as a foundational text that bridged the gap between raw biological observation and modern psychological theory. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
