"A Lecture On the History of the Bishops of Cork, and Cathedral of St. Fin Barree" by Richard Caulfield offers a detailed historical account of the episcopal lineage and the architectural evolution of St. Fin Barre's Cathedral in Cork, Ireland. Caulfield meticulously traces the succession of bishops and significant events that shaped the diocese, providing valuable insights into the religious and social dynamics of the region. This lecture, originally delivered in 1864, serves as a primary resource for understanding the cathedral's role in Irish history and its enduring significance as a symbol of faith and community. The text details not only the ecclesiastical figures but also the structural changes and renovations that reflect the evolving religious landscape of Cork.
