School isn't just about passing exams. It's about surviving them.
Welcome to Saint Gabriel's Academy (S.G.A.), a place where the sun is aggressive, the uniforms are two sizes too big, and the teachers are the "hunters" while the students are the "gazelles". For Leke, a self-proclaimed "Last Bencher," surviving the first term requires a specific set of skills known as Stealth Mode.
Leke's "Three Pillars of Stealth" are simple:
-
The Super-Ironed Uniform: If your shirt lines are sharp enough to cut paper, teachers assume your brain is just as sharp.
-
The Middle Seat: The perfect invisibility cloak between the nerds in the front and the troublemakers in the back.
-
The Serious Face: Always carry a thick textbook-even to the toilet-so no one asks you to sweep the yard.
But Leke's life of invisibility is under siege. His father has issued "The Speech" if Leke gets one red mark on his report card, he's headed to his uncle's cocoa farm-a place with no Wi-Fi and even less mercy.
To stay in school, Leke must navigate "Sudden Inspections" by the biscuit-snatching Senior Bakare and form a high-stakes alliance with Tunde-a robotic genius nicknamed "The Cyborg". Together, they build the "Milo-Mafia," using chocolate malt powder as a secret currency to trade for homework help, bribe authority figures, and power their underground "Milo-Tin Generator".
From hiding contraband in a mango tree to distracting teachers with "rare bird" sightings, Leke's first term is a hilarious, high-stakes battle of wits.
Will Leke's "Stealth Mode" be enough to survive the term, or is he destined for a life on the cocoa farm?
Perfect for fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Terrible Two, Last Bench Chronicles is the ultimate survival guide for any "gazelle" trying to stay one step ahead of the "hunters."
