Knowledge for Justice is a joint publication of UCLA’s four ethnic studies research centers: American Indian Studies, Asian American Studies, Chicana/o Studies, and African American Studies. The book addresses the intersectional intellectual, social, and political struggles that confront the groups represented in the anthology. The selections articulate the specificity of each racial ethnic group’s struggle while simultaneously interrogating the ways in which such labels or categories are inadequate.
Acerca del autor: David K. Yoo is Professor of Asian American Studies and History, and Vice Provost, Institute of American Cultures, at UCLA. He is the author of Contentious Spirits: Religion in Korean American History, 1903-1945 (Stanford University Press, 2010) and Growing Up Nisei: Race, Generation, and Culture Among Japanese Americans of California, 1924-1949 (University of Illinois Press, 2000). He has also co-edited several volumes, including The Oxford Handbook of Asian American History (with Eiichiro Azuma, Oxford University Press, 2016).
