Paperback. Milo knows, exactly what happened. He knows what he heard behind the wall. He knows how a cat tree should be assembled, why a personalised water bowl is an administrative failure, and precisely what Simon is doing wrong with a camera. The difficulty is not that Milo lacks answers. It is that reality keeps introducing amendments. In I Knew That, the third book in the Milo series, our confidently observant-and occasionally correct-cat returns with twelve dryly comic and unexpectedly thoughtful stories about certainty, memory, identity and the awkward freedom of not knowing. While Simon moves furniture, follows questionable directions, searches for an unidentified smell and attempts to obtain one respectable photograph, Milo considers the photographs that never quite capture us, the shortcuts we insist we remember, the space we leave behind and the ordinary moments that refuse to explain themselves. Each small domestic incident becomes another opportunity for Milo to demonstrate his wisdom, defend his dignity and quietly revise his conclusions without admitting that any revision has taken place.Warm, witty and gently reflective, I Knew That is a book for cat lovers, overthinkers and anyone who has ever been completely certain-only to discover that the world had other ideas.Milo may not always have the evidence. But he usually has an explanation.
In I Knew That, the third book in the Milo series, our confidently observant—and occasionally correct—cat returns with twelve dryly comic and unexpectedly thoughtful stories about certainty, memory, identity and the awkward freedom of not knowing.
Each small domestic incident becomes another opportunity for Milo to demonstrate his wisdom, defend his dignity and quietly revise his conclusions without admitting that any revision has taken place.
Warm, witty and gently reflective, I Knew That is a book for cat lovers, overthinkers and anyone who has ever been completely certain—only to discover that the world had other ideas.
Milo may not always have the evidence.
But he usually has an explanation.
